ORTHOBLOCK BOND
ORTHOBLOCK BOND is an innovative, wide water-range, fine-grained, cementitious masonry mortar for ORTHOBLOCK & ORTHOBLOCK PLUS.
It is a ready-to-use, industrially produced, quality-controlled, innovative mortar with a wide water range that can be applied both as a thin-bed mortar and as a traditional bagged masonry mortar.
Its high mechanical strength (M10), strong adhesion, long open working time, as well as its excellent water repellency combined with high vapor permeability, make it the ideal choice for fast, clean, and safe construction of masonry using ORTHOBLOCK & ORTHOBLOCK PLUS.
Application temperature: 5°C to 35°C
ORTHOBLOCK BOND consumption: 1.4–1.5 kg/m²
Compressive strength: >10 N/mm²
Reaction to fire: A1
Water absorption: <0.5 kg/m²·min⁰·⁵
Thermal conductivity (λ10,dry): 0.61 W/m·K
Water vapor diffusion coefficient (μ): <15
For preparing a wet mix for thin joint masonry using the dipping method, mix one 25 kg bag with 5.5–6.0 liters of clean water. For preparing a “stiff” mix for masonry using a trowel (like a traditional masonry mortar), mix one 25 kg bag with 5.0–5.5 liters of clean water. It is recommended to use a mechanical mixer at low speed to prepare the final mix. It offers high workability, with a pot life of 90 minutes at 20°C after mixing. The yield of ORTHOBLOCK BOND depends on the type and thickness of the ORTHOBLOCK & ORTHOBLOCK PLUS used.
ORTHOBLOCK BOND masonry mortar is used for laying hollow clay blocks and is part of the ORTHOBLOCK & ORTHOBLOCK PLUS Masonry Building System.
