KEBE Brings Its New Production Facility in Serbia into Full Operation with an Initial Daily Production Capacity of 600 Tons

KEBE STRENGTHENS ITS MANUFACTURING FOOTPRINT ACROSS THE BALKANS AND MARKS A NEW CHAPTER IN ITS INTERNATIONAL GROWTH JOURNEY THROUGH AN INVESTMENT OF €16.5 MILLION.

KEBE has officially commenced full operations at its new production facility in Mihajlovac, Serbia, marking a significant milestone in the company’s international growth strategy and further reinforcing its presence in the Balkan market. The facility is strategically located just 70 kilometers from Belgrade, along the main transportation corridor connecting Serbia with neighboring countries.

The investment, totaling €16.5 million, was completed in line with the modernization plan previously announced by the company, incorporating the same best-in-class technologies and production standards applied at KEBE’s manufacturing facilities in Nea Santa, Kilkis, Greece. Covering a total area of 117,000 m², including 13,000 m² of industrial buildings, the facility begins operations with a production capacity of 600 tons of clay blocks per day, with plans to increase capacity to 1,000 tons per day by 2027.

The launch of the facility aims not only to expand KEBE’s market share in Serbia—where products manufactured by the plant previously represented approximately 6% of the local market—but also to strengthen the wider Balkan market by providing modern, energy-efficient, high-quality building solutions. At the same time, the investment contributes to local economic development and job creation.

With a history spanning 90 years in the clay building materials industry, KEBE continues its transformation from a family-owned Greek industrial company into a regional player with an expanding international footprint. The operation of the new Serbian facility further enhances the company’s export capabilities while creating synergies that increase operational flexibility and competitiveness.

Commenting on the investment, Mr. Agis Kothalis, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of KEBE, stated:

“We are particularly pleased to complete this strategically important investment, which further strengthens our leading position in the construction sector. The launch of the modernized production facility in Serbia enables us to meet future demand for high-performance building solutions while increasing both our production capacity and our presence across the Balkan market. At the same time, the utilization and revitalization of existing infrastructure is a tangible demonstration of our commitment to sustainability, allowing us to responsibly leverage existing resources while minimizing our environmental footprint.”

Driven by its commitment to creating “A Structurally Better World,” KEBE continues to invest in technology, quality, and innovation, demonstrating that sustainable growth is not only a strategic choice but also the foundation for a greener and higher-quality future.
